Tweetsie Railroad is a Wild West theme park that features an authentic train ride through the mountain. The park also offers entertainment, rides and shopping. In October, the Ghost Train provides visitors with a Halloween treat.

The Blowing Rock is North Carolina's oldest travel attraction. It is a cliff that stands 4,000 feet above sea level and overhangs the Johns River Gorge. It has a walkway with garden waterfall, observation tower and gift shop for visitors to enjoy.

Linville Caverns is located beneath Humpback Mountain in Linville Valley. The caverns were formed by slowing moving ground water over many centuries. There is an incredible series of rooms and passages for visitors to explore.

Located in the heart of Boone, Horn in the West is the nation's oldest Revolutionary War drama. It is held in an incredible outdoor theatre and has been providing entertainment to visitors and locals alike since 1952.

Grandfather Mountain is the highest peak in the Blue Ridge Mountain range, at an elevation of 5,964 feet. It is one of the most popular scenic attractions in the Carolinas and the world's first privately-owned biosphere reserve , featuring the Mile High Swinging Bridge, a nature preserve, museum, and restaurant.

The Blue Ridge Parkway is the most visited unit of America's National Park System. The Parkway offers a relaxing afternoon drive with incredible scenic views. Several pull-offs along the way provide visitors with beautiful long range vistas.

Fred's General Mercantile is America's highest General Mercantile at an elevation of 5028'. Fred's is a store devoted to serving the needs of visitors, skiers, snowboarders, summer folks, and locals alike. You will especially enjoy the vast variety of goods, for just about any need you may have.

The original Mast General Store is located in Valle Crucis, and provides clothing, footwear and outdoor gear for all mountain seasons. It is an old fashioned general store with a potbellied stove and antique post office.
